Israel Gets Green Light to Pound Iran

July 25, 2010 Military, Politics, war 1 Comment

Yes, Iran needs a good old fashioned pounding, not the kind of surgical pounding the US mostly engages in, but a pounding like they used to do in the 1940′s in addition to severe surgical strikes, they need a “MAJOR ATTITUDE CHANGE”

Republicans in the US House of Representatives have introduced a measure that would green-light a possible Israeli bombing campaign against Iran.

Resolution 1553 provides explicit support for military strikes against Iran, stating that Congress backs Israel’s use of ‘all means necessary’ against Iran, “including the use of military force,” BBC Persian reported.

The introduction of the measure coincides with a pattern of renewed calls for military strikes that have escalated since President Obama signed Congressional Iran sanctions into law.

Neoconservatives who were instrumental in orchestrating the Iraq War, such as Bill Kristol and Reuel Marc Gerecht, have led the stepped up calls for military action.

Hawkish former Bush administration official John Bolton recently laid out the game plan to prod Israel into attacking Iran, arguing that outsiders can “create broad support” for a strike by framing it as an issue of Israel’s right to self-defense.

Supporters for military strikes, Bolton says, should “defend the specific tactic of pre-emptive attacks” against Iran.

He said that Congress can ‘make it clear’ that it supports such strikes and that ‘having visible congressional support in place at the outset will reassure’ Israel.

In spite of support from the neocons, top US military leaders have warned of the many dangers of military strikes against Iran.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has argued “Another war in the Middle East is the last thing we need. In fact, I believe it would be disastrous on a number of levels.”

Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has expressed his own serious reservations about an attack on Iran.

The US, which is already providing billions of dollars worth of arms to Israel every year, describes Tel Aviv’s military edge in the region as being in America’s interest.

North Korea Threatens War if Retaliated Upon

Wreckage of the Cheonan

North Korea has threatened “all-out war” if there Seoul retaliates for the torpedo attack that sank the South Korean warship Cheonan in March.

Pyongyang made the threat as it dismissed as fabrication a report by an international team of investigators that concluded that a torpedo fired by a North Korean submarine was responsible for the explosion that ripped the 1,200-tonne corvette in two, killing 46 sailors in one of South Korea’s worst naval tragedies.

In an escalating war of words Lee Myung Bak, the South Korean president vowed to take “resolute counter-measures” against North Korea for the torpedo attack on the Cheonan, which happened near the disputed border between the two countries.

The investigators’ report, published today, is understood to include a computer simulation of the attack in which the Cheonan is shown being struck by an acoustic homing torpedo armed with a quarter-tonne warhead.

It concludes: “The evidence points overwhelmingly to the conclusion that the torpedo was fired by a North Korean submarine. There is no other plausible explanation.”

Britain and the US immediately threw their support behind the report’s findings. William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, condemned the attack and its “total indifference to human life”.

“The UK and international partners are committed to working closely with the Republic of Korea as they consider an appropriate multilateral response to this callous act,” he said.

Cheonan Recovered From Yellow Sea

The White House described the attack as an act of aggression that constituted a challenge to international peace and security.

The ship was on routine patrol in the Yellow Sea near Baengnyeong Island, a heavily garrisoned outpost that lies off the North Korean coast, when it suddenly exploded and sank. The maritime boundary has been disputed since the ceasefire that ended fighting in the Korean war in 1953.

Almost immediately speculation began that it had been deliberately targeted by North Korea.

The 58 crew members rescued after the blast said that they believed the explosion had come from outside the corvette. Captain Choi Won Il said that officers at the time reported an external shock. “It seemed to be a shock from outside,” he said. However, until the report was published yesterday, the official position in Seoul was to resist directly accusing the unpredictable North of deliberately attacking the Cheonan, although senior officials made it clear this was what they believed happened.

The issue is set to dominate the agenda during Hillary Clinton’s Asian tour, which begins today.

Kurt Campbell, America’s most senior diplomat for Asia, said that a “central issue of discussion” for the US Secretary of State’s talks with Chinese officials would be “their assessments of developments in North Korea and their reaction to the report”.

The US “strongly supports” the investigation’s conclusions and “has a deep, enduring and profound [interest] in the maintenance of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula”, he said.

In a telephone conversation with Kevin Rudd, the Australian Prime Minister, Mr Lee promised strong measures against Pyongyang for the attack.

“Resolute countermeasures will be taken against North Korea,” the South Korean President said South Korea, through strong international cooperation, “should make North Korea admit its wrongdoing and return as a responsible member of the international community”, he added.

The ship’s sinking is expected to be taken before the UN Security Council.

Russian report: Netanyahu may be planning attack

Russian media on Thursday continued to cover Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s mysterious visit to Moscow, that was leaked to the media from his office.

Kommersant newspaper quoted “experts” as saying they believe a visit of this kind could have stemmed from urgent circumstances, “for example, in the event that Israel plans to attack Iran”.
Cloud of Mystery
Report: PM held secret talks in Russia / Ynet
Yedioth Ahronoth says Netanyahu’s Monday ‘disappearance’ was actually Moscow visit meant to discuss arms deals between Russian, Iran. PMO asserts Netanyahu was ‘handling classified matters,’ never left the country

At first, Moscow denied a visit ever took place, but after Netanyahu’s office was forced to admit to the PM’s Military Secretary Meir Kalifi’s lie, a senior Kremlin source also confirmed to Kommersant that the Israeli prime minister did indeed visit the city.

Russian media also directed questions on the visit to the Israeli embassy in Moscow, but embassy sources said that if there was such a visit, “We know nothing about it.”

The paper then quoted what it called an “informed” Israeli source, who wished to remain anonymous, as saying, “Such a visit could be related to new information and could threaten the Iranian nuclear program. It should not be ruled out that Israel may be ready to move on to decisive actions with regards to Iran, and Netanyahu has decided to inform the Kremlin of this.”

Russian Foreign Minister Spokesman Andrei Nesterenko published an announcement saying, “We have no knowledge of a Netanyahu’s ‘secret’ visit to Moscow. We saw reports in various media. They are inconsistent. Other than that, I cannot tell you anything. I have no detailed information in the matter, or any information in the matter. We have seen the reports.”

On Wednesday, Ynet revealed that Netanyahu left Israel on a private jet belonging Israeli millionaire Yossi Maiman. Earlier Wednesday, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that his destination was Russia.
The prime minister’s aides who published the false announcements of his whereabouts were at a loss for words.
Wednesday night the Prime Minister’s Office published yet another announcement in an attempt to rectify the damage, said, “The prime minister was busy with secret, classified activity. The military secretary took his own initiative to defend this activity.”

Gaza Strip Turned Into Living Nightmare

January 2, 2009 Military, war 3 Comments

I think Hamas Should seriously “RE-Think” their tactics and just loosen up, if they stop attacking Israel with these relatively feeble rocket attacks the devastation would stop.

gaza-attackGAZA: A dentist stood at the bed of a doctor, his good friend Ehab Madhoun, 32, who had just died, his shrapnel-pitted body wrapped in a white shroud.

The day before, Madhoun, a general practitioner, was in an ambulance responding to an Israeli airstrike at the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza. Another missile hit the ambulance. The driver, Muhammad Abu Hasira, died instantly. Madhoun lingered for a day, dying of his wounds on Wednesday in the intensive care unit of Shifa Hospital, where hundreds of people have been brought since Israel began its heaviest assault on Gaza in three decades.

The dentist cried.

“He was just doing his work,” said the dentist, who would not give his name. “He’s a doctor, and I can’t understand why Israel would hit an ambulance. They can tell from the cameras it’s an ambulance.”

Israel Strengthens Attack Capabilities

August 20, 2008 Military, Politics 4 Comments

Israel, being a nation of primarily Jews whos history has been filled with racial hatred and attempts at complete extermination have begun a large build up of its ability to strike adversaries and defend itself.

Israeli Fighter Jet

Israel is building up its strike capabilities amid growing anxiety over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and appears confident that a military attack would cripple Tehran’s atomic program, even if it can’t destroy it.” The country has also “purchased 90 F-16I fighter planes that can carry enough fuel to reach Iran, and will receive 11 more by the end of next year.” According to the Times of London, President Bush has given an “‘amber light‘ to an Israeli plan to attack Iran’s main nuclear sites with long-range bombing sorties.”

The proposed and expected recipient of this military fury would undoubtedly be Iran, the Iranian President has in recent months and also in the past proclaimed that Israel should be wiped off the map.

Israel, as you could imagine would do anything to avoid history repeating itself at ANY cost and just because we hear about a military build up of its air force hardware, you can bet with confidence that they have the most horribly imaginable contingency plans up their determined sleeves, such as all out, no holds barred nuclear strike aimed at anyone who might threaten their nation or its peoples existence, and because of their history and the attitude of “NEVER AGAIN” they assuredly have many more tricks up their sleeves waiting to be unleashed under the right situation of threat.

The world should pray that NO ONE ever threatens Israel to a high enough degree to unleash their wrath.
